Druid Hills Residents Fight Clifton Ridge Subdivision
As we watched helplessly on January 18, decades’ worth of Druid Hills hardwoods were cut down in just six hours. Many more could be destroyed on February 14.
For the past ten years, the Druid Hills Civic Association has been embroiled in multiple lawsuits with lawyer/developer Robert Buckler, who wants to crowd seven houses on three adjoining heavily wooded lots, next to Burbanck Park – at the corner of Clifton and Oxford.
Should this development be allowed, the nature and character of Druid Hills WILL CHANGE FOREVER.

I find it hard to believe that the association has wasted $150,000 of our dollars on this issue.
1) Were trees not cut down to build our homes?
2) Even if broken into 7 lots, these lots will be larger than most lots in Druid Hills.
3) I imagine individuals buying these lots and building homes, will be neighbors that will keep their homes/lawns in much better condition than many of the homes here in Druid Hills.
4) These homes will generate many tax dollars for our desperate in need of funds county.
Aren’t there many other more important issues today to focus our efforts and funds?
In his website comment above, Jason Widener’s use of the phrases “our dollars” and “our homes” gives readers the impression that he is a DHCA member and a Druid Hills resident. In fact, Mr. Widener is neither. Mr. Widener is the son-in-law of Clifton Ridge Subdivision developer Robert Buckler.
