Join the DHCA
Are you a member of DHCA? If not, please consider joining. One of most active neighborhood groups in the South, DHCA was founded in 1938 to help residents preserve and protect the unique heritage of Druid Hills as envisioned by its creator, landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted.
The DHCA is a lively, committed group of residents who work together on projects ranging from monitoring zoning issues, historic preservation, transportation and pedestrian safety, neighborhood watch, parks, supporting our neighborhood schools and many other engaging community projects.
Money raised from the Druid Hills Home & Garden Tour, membership dues and other resources fund our community newspaper The Druid Hills News and help support many neighborhood organizations. Beneficiaries in 2011-12 include The Alliance to Improve Emory Village, Atlanta Preservation Center, Burbanck Park, DeKalb History Center, Druid Hills Youth Sports, Emory Grove Community Garden, Fernbank Elementary Foundation, Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation, Freedom Park Conservancy, Lullwater Conservation Garden, National Association for Olmsted Parks, National Trust for Historic Preservation, Oakdale Road Street Light Fund, Olmsted Linear Park Alliance, Parkwood Garden Club, PEDS, Springdale Park Elementary PTO, and Trees Atlanta.
DHCA is a self-governing organization run by an elected, all-volunteer board. Individual household membership dues are $25 per year; sustaining membership categories are $50 and up.
